This is the name of the procedure which takes a small sample of tissue from the lining of the womb (endometrium). This sample is then sent off to the laboratory to check if you have any cancer or other abnormal cells in the lining of your womb.Abnormal uterine bleeding is a major gynecological problem, accounting for 33% of outpatient referrals, including 69% of referrals in the peri-menopausal and postmenopausal age groups (1). Dilatation & curettage (D&C) is the gold standard for endometrial sampling, but in 60% of cases, less than half of the uterine cavity is curetted, with the added risk of general anesthesia, infection and perforation (3, 4). This has led to the advent of new and simple methods for endometrial sampling. Various devices are on the market nowadays, including the Pipelle device (5, 6). The Pipelle can be used on an outpatient basis and is cost effective compared with D&C (7). However, there are still concerns regarding the adequacy of the sample obtained, non-sampling of focal intrauterine lesions (6). Therefore, this study was designed to compare the diagnostic accuracy of Pipelle endometrial sampling with conventional D&C in patients with abnormal uterine bleeding.

QimoPerfusafe is a safety infusion device with Huber bevel for implantable ports. QimoPerfusafe is made of:

• 1 needle with Huber bevel,
• 4 wings: 2 upper wings for holding the device during placement and removal. 2 lower wings to hold the implantable port in place when removing QimoPerfusafe and activate the safety device,

Reinforced tubes have certain advantages over standard endotracheal tubes in several situations due to their resistance to occlusion when bent and their overall greater flexibility:

•  The most common reason to use armored ETT is arguably for certain head & neck and neurosurgical cases, i.e. when access to the airway is limited and bulky equipment in front of the patient's mouth and face can get in the way of the surgeon. In these situations an armored tube is a great alternative to an oral RAE tube.
•  They can be advantageous in fiberoptic intubation via either the oral or nasal route. Since they are usually easier to 'railroad' off the scope due to their superior flexibility. 
•  They might be useful for intubation through a tracheotomy. Again, the greater flexibility of these tubes makes for an easier navigation of the angle between the tracheotomy site at the skin and the trachea and makes an armored ETT potentially less traumatic than a standard one.
•  Reinforced tubes can be useful in patients positioned prone. Forces applied at to the part of the tube outside of the patients airway are less likely to be transmitted.

Vystar female / male: ramp of two 3-way stopcocks

 

Vystar ramp of stopcocks is an add-on device for intravenous catheters comprising:

a body molded in a lipid-resistant raw material (polycarbonate) and transparent to detect air bubbles to facilitate the priming of the device.

stopcocks in polyoxymethylene (POM), each stopcock having a different colour.

 

Pressure tested to 2 bars during 15 minutes meeting the requirements of the ISO norm 8536-10.

 

 

The extension tube supplied with Vystar ramps (except code 5827.92: without extension tube) is made of 3 layers. The outer layer is in PVC, the inner layer is in Polyethylene without additives, material presenting a high chemical inertness and the intermediate layer is Ethyl Vinyl Acetate, material linking the inner and the outer layers.

This structure allows to minimize interations with drugs and leaching of plasticizers from the PVC into the administered solutions.

 

Some models of Vystar ramps are supplied with Bionector a multi-purpose, closed, needle-free connector allowing blood sampling, intermittent injections or continuous infusions of fluids or drugs.
