Dilatation & curettage (D&C) is the gold standard for endometrial sampling, but in 60% of cases, less than half of the uterine cavity is curetted, with the added risk of general anesthesia, infection and perforation (3, 4). This has led to the advent of new and simple methods for endometrial sampling. Various devices are on the market nowadays, including the Pipelle device (5, 6). The Pipelle can be used on an outpatient basis and is cost effective compared with D&C (7). However, there are still concerns regarding the adequacy of the sample obtained, non-sampling of focal intrauterine lesions (6). Therefore, this study was designed to compare the diagnostic accuracy of Pipelle endometrial sampling with conventional D&C in patients with abnormal uterine bleeding.

Aspiration catheter is a rapid exchange type catheter used for the removal of thrombus and debris in the coronary or peripheral arteries via percutaneous suction. Thrombosis occurs when clots form and obstruct the blood vessel. If this occurs in a patient’s arteries, it is called arterial thrombosis. In veins it’s referred to as venous thrombosis. When blood flow is interrupted, the heart muscle is deprived of oxygen. Prolonged oxygen deprivation can lead to death (necrosis) of the heart muscle (or myocardium). The primary reason to use an aspiration catheter is to remove the thrombus.

A central venous catheter (CVC), also known as a central line(c-line), central venous line, or central venous access catheter, is a catheter placed into a large vein. It is a form of venous access. Placement of larger catheters in more centrally located veins is often needed in critically ill patients, or in those requiring prolonged intravenous therapies, for more reliable vascular access. These catheters are commonly placed in veins in the neck (internal jugular vein), chest (subclavian vein or axillary vein), groin (femoral vein), or through veins in the arms (also known as a PICC line, or peripherally inserted central catheters).

Central lines are used to administer medication or fluids that are unable to be taken by mouth or would harm a smaller peripheral vein, obtain blood tests (specifically the "central venous oxygen saturation"), administer fluid or blood products for large volume resuscitation, and measure central venous pressure.^[1][2] The catheters used are commonly 15–30 cm in length, made of silicone or polyurethane, and have single or multiple lumens for infusion.^[3

• The blunt, curved tip can be passed blindly into the trachea when visualization of the glottis is inadequate to guide the placement of the endotracheal tube.
• The optional stiffening cannula adds rigidity to the proximal and middle sections of the catheter, but the distal portion remains flexible.
• The lumen and distal sideports are designed to deliver oxygen.
• The centimeter marks facilitate accurate alignment with endotracheal tubes.
• The removable Rapi-Fit^® adapters permit oxygen delivery, if necessary.

Reinforced tubes have certain advantages over standard endotracheal tubes in several situations due to their resistance to occlusion when bent and their overall greater flexibility:

•  The most common reason to use armored ETT is arguably for certain head & neck and neurosurgical cases, i.e. when access to the airway is limited and bulky equipment in front of the patient's mouth and face can get in the way of the surgeon. In these situations an armored tube is a great alternative to an oral RAE tube.
•  They can be advantageous in fiberoptic intubation via either the oral or nasal route. Since they are usually easier to 'railroad' off the scope due to their superior flexibility. 
•  They might be useful for intubation through a tracheotomy. Again, the greater flexibility of these tubes makes for an easier navigation of the angle between the tracheotomy site at the skin and the trachea and makes an armored ETT potentially less traumatic than a standard one.
•  Reinforced tubes can be useful in patients positioned prone. Forces applied at to the part of the tube outside of the patients airway are less likely to be transmitted.

A colostomy bag, also called a stoma bag or ostomy bag, is a small, waterproof pouch used to collect waste from the body.

During a surgical procedure known as a colostomy, an opening called a stoma or ostomy is formed between the large intestine (colon) and the abdominal wall. This allows waste products to be excreted through the opening in the abdominal wall rather than via the colon through the rectum and anus. Stools and other waste products are drainable into the pouch-like colostomy bag, which can then be emptied at regular intervals.
