Octopus 3 with Bionector is a polyurethane, transparent, supple multi-lumen extension tube for IV catheters (peripheral or central venous). Octopus 5 code 842.514 is a 5-lumen extension tube with a clamp on each lumen, 5 Bionector and 4 non-return valves. The extension tube without non-return valve (with blue clamp) allows blood sampling.

Used for central venous catheter care, Octopus 3 has the following advantages:

Anti-return valves avoid reflux of fluids or drugs beyond the valve during multiple infusions.
Bionector can be disinfected with most of the antiseptic solutions (example: 70% alcohol). Avoid using antiseptic containing both alcohol and oxygenated water.

Octopus is a polyurethane multi-lumen extension tube for I.V. catheters, transparent and with low priming volume.

To identify the different infusion lines, each tube has a clamp of different colour.

Octopus allows, in some cases, to avoid the use of stopcocks or ramps of stopcocks.

Autoflush connected to the proximal hubs of the Octopus is a multi-purpose, closed, disinfectable needleless access device for blood sampling, intermittent injections or continuous infusion of fluids or drugs.

When a syringe or any device featuring a male Luer or male Luer-lock end is disconnected from Autoflush, a positive bolus of 0.03 ml is injected which maintains catheter patency.

The non-return valves prevent any backtracking of fluids or drugs when different infusions are running simultaneously.

Multicath4 expert S is an antimicrobial XRO polyurethane central venous catheter introduced by Seldinger technique.
The ionic silver antimicrobial agent (Agion) is incorporated within the bulk polyurethane material to minimise the risk of catheter-related bloodstream infection risks. Silver ions are released slowly to ensure efficacy during the dwell time of the catheter.
It consists of 4 lumens completely separated on the total length of the catheter. Each lumen leads, at the distal tip of the catheter, to a distinct hole. At the proximal end, the lumens of the catheter are connected to extension tubes of different lengths. Each extension tube includes a different coloured hub and is marked “Distal”, “Medial 1”, “Medial 2”, and “Proximal” so as to identify easily the different infusion lines.
Multicath4 expert S is available in 4 lengths: 12.5cm (code 8158.072), 16cm (code 8158.172), 20cm (code 8158.272), or 30cm (code 8158.372).

Octopus with Bionector TKO is a multi-purpose catheter accessory, a single lumen I.V. extension tube with needleless connector, enabling intermittent injections or continuous infusions of fluids or medications and blood sampling.

Octopus with Bionector TKO is a needleless catheter patency device that has been specifically designed to reduce thrombotic catheter occlusions and works by controlling the bi-directional flow of fluid, infusate and catheter tip blood reflux.

Octopus with Bionector TKO has a very easily disinfectable membrane (disinfection must be carried out before and after use) which closes automatically when the infusion line or the syringe is disconnected.

The proximal end of Octopus with Bionector TKO is a female Luer-Lock fitting and will accept any device featuring a male Luer or male Luer-Lock fitting (syringe, infusion set ...).

Octopus with Bionector TKO features a male connector with mobile locking device to connect it to all devices featuring a female Luer-Lock hub (IV catheter…).

aim at ZERO is a new campaign designed by Vygon to help hospitals win the fight against Hospital-Acquired Infections in Neonatal Intensive Care Units. This initiative provides infection reduction solutions at key stages of IV therapy: during the preparation phase, during the insertion of the line and during the infusion. Each product solution has been specially designed for the neonates, based on international recommendations and is supported by both clinical studies and data.

Two types of implantable port existing:

Venipuncture can therefore be performed using a needle with a small external diameter (20G for code 2171.13, 18G for other codes).

The Tuohy needle for epidural anaesthesia features:

• centimetric graduations
• a transparent hub to visualise any fluid reflux (blood or CSF)
• removable wings for easier insertion
• the heel of the bevel is smoothed to reduce the risk of cutting the epidural catheter
• a stainless steel stylet (except code 184.881: plastic stylet)
• the hub of the stylet is colour-coded according to the diameter of the needle and features a lug to indicate the orientation of the bevel
• extra-long needles are available for obese patients

Note: The Tuohy needle code 184.882 (18G, 8cm long) includes an opening in the curved distal end of the needle (also called back-eye) which is useful if the anesthetist wants to perform a combined spinal-epidural anesthesia.

The CPAP mode of ventilation allows:

The Boussignac CPAP and its manometer connector is a device for connection to a face mask with its 22 mm male connector, the crenellated upper part remaining open to the air.
This device comprises 2 lateral ports:

·         the upper port is preconnected to a an extension tube (length 200 cm) for connection to an air or oxygen source

·         the bottom port (colourless translucent) allows:

. controlling pressure (use manometer code 527.01),
. an additional oxygen supply if the gas administered to the patient via the upper port is air,

Nutricath Tunnel with cuff is a silicone long-term central venous catheter, totally radiopaque, with subcutaneous cuff for parenteral nutrition, drug administrations, chemotherapy.

Peripherally inserted central venous catheter (2Fr / 24G) in polyurethane for drug administration and parenteral nutrition.

Nutriline can be inserted either through a splitting needle (codes 1252.15 and 1252.30) or through a peelable short IV cannula, Microflash type (codes 1252.030, 1252.150 and 1252.35).

Nutriline code 1252.030 (with Microflash introducer) is supplied with a stylet.
